When am I not planning for an overseas trip? To round off the year with my 4th overseas trip (I think it was 4), I’m heading to Europe in search of a white Christmas (again). Last year we only saw light snow flurries in Budapest. So this year the the plan is to hit up Budapest – Berlin – Bucharest. And hopefully we’ll see some good dumps of snow while we are away. On this trip I have booked apartments instead of hotel rooms for most of our stays. It will be nice to be able to cook our own food and wash clothes as we travel. I’m VERY excited about going back to Budapest. That city is beautiful! And we will be in Berlin for Christmas again where we will meet up with some of our other friends from Melbourne. I’m not looking forward to the 31 hours of flights to get to Budapest though. That’s a killer!
My Oneworld plane collection so far…
Tag: Christmas
I had a great Christmas day getting together with Tyson, Nico and Jake on Tyson and Nico’s rooftop over in Flinders Lane. The boys recently moved in with a BBQ so it was a great opportunity to try it out and for once Melbourne stayed warm and dry for the day. My first attempt at making a pavlova was a huge success. Though it was just a matter of adding cream and fruit to a huge merangue bought at the supermarket. We had music, a huge inflated Santa Claus and a Santa pinyata to be smashed after lunch. It really was a fun day.
Canon 7D for Christmas!
Must have been good this year. Santa left me a Canon 7D with a 17-55mm f2.8 constant appeture lens this morning when I woke up. I’m spending Christmas day with Tyson, Nico and Jake over on their rooftop having a BBQ. So there should be plenty of great photos to share tonight.
Merry Christmas!
Best Dressed Christmas Desk
I didn’t even know there was a competition when I won the first prize for the best decorated desk for Christmas at the office this year. Late one night Chris and I went into the office and wrapped my desk and the surrounding furniture in Christmas wrapping paper. It took a while to do but the results look great!
I hate the last day of any vacation. I did have one day working last week. But tomorrow I return to full time working again. I have a few projects held over from last year that I’m looking forward to getting in to. Late last year I discovered the advantages of using my colleagues in India to help me with some of our work and I want to explore that some more. I’m sure it will seem a long time ago since I was swimming in my mum and dad’s swimming pool at Christmas in a few days.
My first underwater Christmas? It’s been a very busy time in the lead up to Christmas. Tyson has been working like crazy to get the MelbourneLoft site moved to a new server and at the same time turning it into a more “blog style” page and keeping the webcam section. He’s done a great job on it!
I had a little bit of bad news in the week leading up to Christmas about my health. I have to get some surgery on my leg early in 2010. And then I was running about like crazy getting ready to come to the Gold Coast to see my family. But it was all worth it seeing everyone so happy on Christmas day. I think it’s always important to have things to do on Christmas day. So I got an underwater camera for Christmas and took a whole lot of photos in mum and dad’s swimming pool. I’ll post a lot more once I work out how to insert a gallery in wordpress.
These shots are of me and my older brother. I also got a new higher res webcam to bring sharper shots to MelbourneLoft.
