I took some time out this weekend to check out “Sexpo at the melbourne Exhibition Centre. It’s like the straight version of San Francisco’s Fair without all the naked men.  I love coming to Sexpo to see all the hot porn stars and the sexy suburban men who have come in to ogle at the girls.  I always get a laugh at the demonstrations, new toys and rides that have at Sexpo. Like the 15 year old boys lining up to have their photos taken with their favourite porn stars, the “Sex Train… and take on the old Ghost Train ride… except in this case there are severed penises and women squatting and urinating in corners… possibly the most twisted amusement park ride I have ever seen.  I got to meet some of the girls from local girl on girl site AbbyWinters.com and had my photo taken with local porn hottie Kiki!
I love Sexpo!  Oh… and I joined the new political party the “Australian Sex Party. They are doing some very important work for the sex industry here in Australia. You can check them out at www.sexparty.org.au.

Where's your Loggia?
So do you know what a Loggia is?  It seems to be a new term for an internal “urban” garden.  The room above at the beautiful Lumiere apartments in Sydney has one. It’s that section at the very end with the two chairs and one plant.  That’s the modern apartment’s garden.  You might think it’s just a sectioned off end of a room.  Wikipedia will tell you that it’s a place to enjoy cool winds and enjoy the view.  Well in these cases you could open a window and look towards the tower next door.  I think this is a fantastic idea!  I’m planning several Loggias for the loft.  Any excuse to have a banana lounge or a hammock in the loft.
I got home from Sydney this week to find that the loft had changed colour!  From blue to brown!  I’m not sure if this is the final colour.  But it makes a nice change from the blue/grey colour. I hope they paint the awning and front lower section of the building too.
Lurid Digs
Isn’t it about time you revisted the boys at Lurid Digs? I have a holiday today for the Melbourne Cup horse race and I’m sitting here in my PJs checking out some sites that I haven’t been back to in a long time. Lurid Digs always horrifies me… and then makes me laugh.  Check out the commentary on the scenes that guys choose to place themselves in for those “self pics”.  I don’t think Lurid Digs will ever run out of material.
All I Want for Christmas
Is the new Canon Canon 5D MKII digital SLR camera!  It is a 21 megapixel SLR that also take high definition video!  How cool is that?   I’ve been drooling over the display of the new 5D in the window display at Michael’s Camera store on Elizabeth Street. But I’m too scared to go inside and see what it costs.  Maybe Santa Claus will bring it to me for Christmas.
Day Trippers
Yesterday I had to go down to Geelong to inspect my house there.  I was gonna catch the train when Greg and Jake decided to come along for the ride. So we rented a car and headed down early in the morning.. stopping for many coffees along the way.  The house looks great! I had not seen it since it received a paint job last year.  The tenant is looking after it very well.
Afterwards we drove out through Winchelsea to Lorne and had a nice lunch at the pub there.  Lorne has a beautiful beach there but gets heavily populated with tourists on the weekend. We didn’t stay long there before we drove up into the hills to find the amazing Erskine Falls.
I must admit that I have not toured much of Victoria at all. Unlike Greg and Jake who seem to have been everywhere at least once.  Here are a few photos of our trip.
Been Busy
I’ve had a busy couple of weeks so I have had much time to post.  So now it’s time to catch up. Two weeks ago we had our first trip down to the surf coast to catch some rays at the beach and do a little shooting.  These shoots always turn out really well.  But I was really alarmed at the difference in the quality of photos taken by my camera and Chris’ Nikon. The Nikon photos were amazing!  Virtually to the point where no post processing in Photoshop was required.
It was a fun day and I expect we’ll be heading down that way a lot more times this summer.
The Big Bird Flies!
At last a good news story from Qantas. Â Yesterday the brand spanking new Qantas A380 Airbus took off from Melbourne’s Tullamarine airport for the first commercial flight. Â Winging it’s way to Los Angeles the airbus was packed to the rafters with a large crowd of excited people waiting to check out the new ride. Â The plane was full of celebrities, Qantas officials and crazy tourists (a bit like me). Â Some people were waiting in Los Angeles a few hours just to get back on the airbus and come back home again… Â and it’s a 14 hour flight! Â Â I’m a bit sad that I was not there. Â I had planned to ride the plane in September when it was first scheduled to fly. Â But a delay in delivery meant it would not fly until October. Â A busy time at work for me.
So I will get to fly on the big bird next year when I’m hoping to do another round the world trip.  The guy below is a Melbourne business man, Ron Walker.  This guy is REALLY tall.  Doesn’t that space look comfy!   The plane was met at LAX by John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John.
Good name for a movie eh?
Well it hasn’t been a good week for Qantas this week. A couple of days ago an Airbus A330 carry 303 passengers travelling from Singapore to Perth suddenly lifted and then quickly dropped, pushing many people head first into the ceiling of the plane.  There were between 30 to 40 people with pretty serious injuries. So much so that the plane made an emergency landing at in airport in a remote location in Western Australia.
One man said that he was pinned to the ceiling for enough time to look around to see where he could possibly safely fall to. But by the time he fell there was already broken glasses and bottles all over the place.
I’ve heard that there was a computer malfunction that allowed them to hit something called “clear air turbulance”. Like a jet stream perhaps.  And presently they are questioning the passengers to see if anyone was using a laptop computer or any other devices using a wireless transmitter.  Back in July a man clicking on his cordless mouse was blamed for sending a Qantas jet off course.
The findings of this accident will be very interesting and may change our travels in the future.  I’m sure Qantas and Airbus will be very keen to see hear the results.  Passengers were given a refund for their flight and a free London to Sydney trip in the future.  I am guessing they would have paid for the passengers to get home and some medical expenses as well.   As a frequent flyer I can imagine just how scary those moments would have been.
Below are a few shots from inside the Airbus after it landed.
I Need a Good Lie Down
I am loving this sunny warm weather!  It’s perfect for outdoor photography.  Soon I’m hoping to get down the coast or out to rural Victoria for some outdoor shooting. I was busy with work this weekend so I didn’t get to enjoy it. The above was taken out on my rooftop last weekend.  I’m pretty tired now… I think I’ll go fluff up both my pillows and go to sleep.
